The Hörmann team hosted a series of open days from 14 to 16 November, welcoming visitors to find out more about the Hörmann Truedor range of composite doors. The events took place at the company’s new 200,000ft² manufacturing plant for IG Doors, in Oakdale, Caerphilly.
More than 90 existing and prospective customers attended over three days, along with members of the press. Visitors toured the automated manufacturing facility as part of their visit.
The day started with a short presentation about the history and capabilities of IG Doors, together with a brief introduction to the comprehensive Hörmann Truedor range of doors. This was followed by a tour of the on-site showroom, which featured the company’s Platinum44 steel doors, the Ignis30 fire door and the Clima63 thermally efficient composite door, which is marketed as being able to achieve a U-value of 1 W/M²K.
Visitors witnessed the manufacturing process first-hand, from the creation of the complete door slab to paint, assembly and finishing, right through to despatch. Experts from both the Hörmann and IG teams were on hand to answer questions.
“We were delighted by the attendance at the open days with new and existing customers joining us from all over the country,” said David O’Mara, marketing manager for Hörmann Truedor. “One company even visited from Shetland.
“I can confidently say that everyone who went on the factory tour was impressed by the scale of the plant and the levels of automation and the expertise on show. Being able to see the actual production of a door slab was a first for all concerned.
“The six sessions we held were such a success, and Hörmann Truedor have such a positive and compelling message to convey to the market, that we are planning further open events in the Spring of 2024, dates of which will be announced in due course. So, as they say, watch this space.”
