ODL Europe, exclusive partner of Capstone Engineering and supplier of the Capstone door slab, has announced the introduction of the Capstone SecureDesign door slab.
Nathan Barr, ODL Europe’s managing director, said: “Our remit is to constantly innovate. The new SecureDesign door slab has been specifically designed to further enhance our composite doors to deliver a truly maintenance free door with even better performance.”
The SecureDesign door slab is manufactured with polypropylene, which is said to eliminate water absorption and means doors will not bulge or rot, even if water intrudes through openings from seal failure of glass and letterplates. ODL says that Polypropylene also retains its shape even after torsion, bending and/or flexing, giving it superior toughness. Plus, as a thermoplastic it is a good candidate for recycling.
The SecureDesign door slab is PAS 24:2016 accredited as standard. It has been designed to create fewer areas of vulnerability, which increases the difficulty of cutting through the door. ODL adds that the SecureDesign door slab is an integral part of the door core, rather than ‘floating’ in the door, further improving strength and security.
The SecureDesign door slab has a high-density polyurethane foam core which has been engineered for the best flowability of the foam. ODL says this reduces possible foam voids, and uneven surfaces, ensuring high quality aesthetics.
