The Solidor team has launched four new colours at the business’ ‘Solidor Unlocked’ event, which took place in May at the firm’s new manufacturing facilities in Stoke-on-Trent.
As part of the two-day event, attendees were taken on a behind-the-scenes tour of the Solidor factory before being given an update on the U-value performance changes that impact doors being fitted into existing dwellings (the changes came into effect on 15 June 2023.)
Visitors who attended the Solidor team’s event also received a preview of the new, nature-inspired colours – Forest Green, Buttercup, Pistachio and Truffle Brown – as well as two new smart handles from ERA and Ultion. The names for the new colours were suggested by members of the Solidor team before being put to a vote.
“The launch of the new colours is the start of many exciting developments at Solidor,” said Mark Young, Solidor’s commercial director. “This event has given our installers the opportunity to see our latest innovations and designs, as well as learn about important updates to Part L of the building regulations.
“In this world of complex legislative change, with many standards being updated on a regular basis, it’s encouraging to see so many people from across our national installer network come to site and make sure they’re up to date with the requirements.”
All doors in the Solidor range are fully in line with the standards specified in the amendments to Part L, a representative of the business has stated. The firm’s thermally efficient designs can achieve a U-value of 1.4 W/(m²K), they added.
“The timber core doors have added design features that drive an overall performance improvement and provide customers with the same broad range of choices, suitable for any installation,” a member of the team reported.
