The team at CDW Systems has reported helping more and more smaller fabricators to meet project requirements that would otherwise be beyond their capabilities.
The Gloucester-based aluminium fabricator company has been supplying aluminium window, door and curtain wall products to the domestic and commercial markets for more than 30 years.
While representatives of the business report being kept busy by installers wanting windows and doors for commercial applications, they say that they are also getting asked to help smaller fabricators, as limited resources, restricted production capacity and limited access to specialised equipment can make it difficult for smaller fabricators to undertake and complete large projects efficiently.
“We’re still busy, and what we are finding now is that we are getting quite a lot of business from customers who do a little bit of fabrication themselves but have not got the capacity to cope with the larger type of projects,” explained Jeremy Phillips, CDW Systems’ group chair. “They will use us for those, and we are very happy to do that.
“We understand the unique challenges that fabricators have, as we face them too. This is why we are well placed to help them if we can.
“Thanks to our capacity and lead times, they don’t have to worry about struggling to meet the demands of large-scale projects and the potential impact on their everyday fabrication,” added Jeremy.
“Some companies will also fabricate more domestic aluminium, whereas we do the commercial range as well, so they will use us for those products for their commercial projects. We’re finding that’s another area of growth for us.”
Established in 1992, CDW Systems’ aluminium products include windows, bi-folds, sliding patio doors, commercial entrance doors and curtain walling. For more information about the business, visit cdwsystems.co.uk or call 01452 414 853.
