Commercial installation company, The Window Company (Contracts) has secured the window and door replacement contract from Ashford Borough Council for the first time.
It further strengthens the Chelmsford-based company’s position in the social housing sector, since it already holds similar contracts for Basildon and Dacorum Councils and this year retained the Moat Housing contract for another term.
This multi-million pound, six-year agreement with Ashford Borough Council extends to 2030, and was awarded following a rigorous process, during which The Window Company (Contracts) had to demonstrate not only operational excellence, but also a real commitment to maximising social value.
Ashford Borough Council has nearly 5000 properties in its own housing stock and works with a network of housing associations to meet the social housing needs of residents within the borough.
To optimise efficiency for all the installations in Ashford, The Window Company (Contracts) has invested in a satellite warehouse site in Bethersden, Kent, which is serving as the hub for deliveries and the installation team.
Rob Petre, the company’s managing director, commented: “Having this satellite base in Kent means we can use locally based fitting teams as much as possible and maintain dedicated product stocks for the Ashford contract.”
Solar Fabrications, which is already an established and trusted supply partner for the installer, is supplying the majority of Rehau windows and composite doors for the project and delivering direct to the hub. Solar’s Managing Director Gareth Jones added: “We’re delighted to be partnering with The Window Company (Contracts) for Ashford Council and our vehicles are already making regular round trips to Kent.”
The Window Company (Contracts) is an award-winning commercial installer operating across London and the Southeast. Alongside ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001, the company is PAS2030 accredited for SHDF-funded projects, and holds the BSI Kitemark for Surveying and Installation.
