Hurst has appointed Marcin Wegerski as their new composite production manager, who promises to bring high levels of lean manufacturing to the supplier’s operation in Hull, which will directly benefit their customers.
Marcin has an engineering degree in technology, and has followed that up with 20 years’ experience in production and manufacturing in allied industries and door manufacturing.
“I joined Hurst earlier this year and I’ve really enjoyed getting my feet under the table and making a positive difference to the way the composite door manufacturing department is run,” Marcin said.
“Hurst already had a well-established manufacturing shop floor before I joined, but I’ve liked the challenge of looking for areas that could benefit from tweaks and improvements.
“I’ve been working very close with the operators, with the supervisors, team leaders, and we have already had a number of successes over the last couple of months.”
Marcin joined Hurst at a time of increased investment at the company. Following on from the new beam saw and two new edgebanders, which were installed in the last year, Hurst has also invested in a new paint shop, which will give the leading door supplier greater control over the manufacturing process, while minimising error and reducing lead times in the process.
“Marcin has joined Hurst at an exciting time,” Kevin Wheatman, director and general manager said. “As we develop our operations to provide comprehensive door solutions to our customers, we need to ensure we have the skilled staff to help us realise our ambitions.
“So far Marcin has proved that he is already a valuable asset to the team, and we are glad to have him on board.”
