Kombimatec hosts successful open day

Machinery manufacturer Kombimatec recently hosted a series of open days from the 17th-19th September, which attracted a wide range of industry professionals eager to see the latest innovations in aluminium and PVC profile fabrication.

The open days featured live demonstrations of Kombimatec’s advanced machinery, giving visitors the opportunity to experience first-hand how these systems are transforming the manufacturing process. The event was designed to cater to both aluminium and PVC fabricators, with tailored demonstrations for each material type.

For aluminium-focused attendees, the spotlight was on the DGS530 Electronic Double Mitre Saw. Visitors saw how aluminium profiles were cut with precision, while a self-adhesive label, containing a barcode for profile identification, was automatically printed during the cutting cycle. This barcode is essential for tracking the profile throughout the production process and feeding data into subsequent machines. The seamless workflow continued with the AMC328 Machining Centre, where a Datalogic scanner was used to scan the barcode. This immediately identified the part, activating a 3D simulator that allowed operators to verify the routing details for the specific piece. Once confirmed, the operator loaded the profile into the AMC328, and the machining cycle ran smoothly.

For PVC-focused visitors, Kombimatec demonstrated the fabrication of the innovative Mech/Part Weld Joint. Profiles were first cut with mitre and straight end preparations before being fed into a CNC routing machine. These profiles were then welded using the 2HD/MW Welder, resulting in high-quality joints that simulate the appearance of traditional wooden windows, while leveraging the cost-efficiency and durability of PVC. This new welding technique impressed attendees, highlighting how fabricators can achieve a premium aesthetic with minimal effort, making it an attractive option for manufacturers looking to offer high-end solutions at a competitive price point.

“We were delighted with the success of our open days,” said David Parsons, director at Kombimatec. “The live demonstrations of both the aluminium and PVC processes allowed our visitors to see how our machinery integrates cutting, tracking, and machining into an efficient production flow. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many attendees impressed by the precision and versatility of our systems.”

Throughout the event, Kombimatec’s expert team was on hand to answer questions, provide insights into the latest industry trends, and discuss how manufacturers can implement these technologies into their production lines to improve efficiency and product quality.

The open days not only showcased Kombimatec’s dedication to innovation but also served as a valuable platform for networking and knowledge exchange among industry professionals.

With the success of this event, Kombimatec plans to host similar open days in the future, offering more opportunities for manufacturers to see first-hand how the company’s CNC machinery can meet their production needs.
