Agenda announced for Glazing Summit 2023

Organisers of this year’s Glazing Summit conference have finalised the agenda, which can be viewed online here. The event is set to be the most explosive so far, the team behind the summit has reported.

Due to take place at Birmingham’s Edgbaston Stadium and Conference Centre on 12 October, this year’s Glazing Summit conference is backed by sponsors including including Yale, Veka, Edgetech, Eurocell, Reynaers and Liniar.

“It’s hugely exciting to announce this year’s Glazing Summit agenda,” said Andrew Scott, the event’s founder.

He added: “At a time of further regulatory change and evolving consumer demands, the glazing industry finds itself at a pivotal crossroads. This year, we want to not only inform but also provide steps we can all take to enable real change in the industry.

“With world-class insight and keynote speakers, it’s set to be another crucial event for our industry.”

Technical experts are scheduled to discuss the looming Future Homes Standard and new building regulations, including Document Q. New initiatives to tackle the skills shortage and perceptions of the industry are also set to be announced at this year’s summit.

More than 400 fabricators, installers and glass companies plan to attend the conference this year, which has 20 speakers and a revised format for some of the sessions.

“We want this year to be punchier, more solution-focused and give delegates essential information they can apply to their business immediately, especially as many companies are facing a slowdown in the market after a period of boom,” said Andrew.

This year installers are to be put under the spotlight as many report changing consumer trends, pressure on prices, demand for new products and greater adoption of technology.

Alongside the industry debates and keynote talks, the Glazing Summit is to host the economist Ed Johnstone, who is due to share a banker’s view of the home improvement and property market.

The business speaker Brad Burton is also set to take to the stage. Having worked with companies like JCB, Bentley and Costa Coffee, Brad’s energy and self-deprecating humour is designed to inspire delegates as well as to equip them with ideas to take their lives and businesses to the next level.

Glazing Summit delegates are to have a more proactive role in the day’s proceedings by putting questions to the panellists, and participating in polls and surveys.

“With free on-site parking, refreshments and lunch, the summit is a great opportunity to network and connect with friends, customers and suppliers, and build new business relationships. For business leaders and managers, it really is the one-day event not to miss.”
