Leaders of the specialist lock and hardware supplier UAP, have sponsored this year’s G Awards (G23).
Launched in 2004, the G Awards recognise innovation and exceptional performance in the UK glass and glazing industry. This year’s event is expected to attract more than 450 people, and is set to take place on 24 November at the London Hilton hotel on Park Lane.
UAP, which was established in 1996, operates across seven brands and is marketed as providing ‘an unrivalled range of products’ to the domestic and commercial sectors.
“Having watched the G Awards go from strength to strength, we wanted to show our support as a main sponsor this year,” explained Kamila Kasperowicz, UAP’s marketing director.
“UAP has expanded rapidly in recent years, and works with many different people and companies, so we know our industry has a lot to be proud of. The products, businesses, individuals and initiatives showcased at the awards never fail to impress, demonstrating the innovation and quality which we are all committed to.
“We are looking forward to celebrating these achievements as both a sponsor of and entrant to the G23 awards.”
Tony Higgin, organiser of the G23 Awards, added: “UAP’s sponsorship is great news for the G23 awards. The backing of leading brands ensures we can keep rewarding excellence in glass and glazing, and that the event remains a highlight in the industry calendar.”
UAP’s sponsorship follows several successes at the G Awards. In 2022, the business was named a finalist in the Sustainability Initiative of the Year category for its SEE scheme. Considering social, economic and environmental factors, SEE was designed to go above and beyond standard policies and accreditations such as ISO:14001.
In 2021, after being shortlisted in three categories, UAP’s team was crowned Covid Business Hero of the year. The award recognised the team’s quick response to the Covid-19 pandemic, including producing PPE that was later donated to local hospices and other businesses.
