Technical expert Chris Flaherty is set to retire from working with Winkhaus UK, after 28 years with the business. He will work as a consultant for Winkhaus, for the next 12 months.
Justin Harris, Winkhaus’ managing director, said: “Chris embodies what Winkhaus stands for. He is tenacious, very knowledgeable and easily crosses the commercial and technical divide. I would suggest that Chris is an industry-leading fire door authority, and this has certainly helped drive the success that the company has achieved in supplying this sector of the market.
“As importantly for me, having worked with Chris for 25 years, he is great fun. He does not take life too seriously, and he has been a pleasure to work with. We wish him a long and healthy retirement.”
George Smith is to take over leadership of Winkhaus’ technical team, as senior technical manager. Having 20 years’ experience in Winkhaus’ technical and product teams, George has led the recent expansion of its product team as part of the transition into his new role, which also includes overseeing Winkhaus’ technical services and laboratory teams.
Mark Alton is to take over responsibility for fire solutions as Winkhaus’ fire door product manager. Bringing over 20 years of experience to the role, Mark has extensive knowledge of fire doors and certification.
