Dundee-based Ravensby Glass has modernised one of its factories with new automation machinery, following a £3m investment. The investment included a funding package from Royal Bank of Scotland and Lombard Asset Finance.
The specialist glass manufacturer aims to futureproof the business by purchasing new furnaces and robotic handling equipment, to significantly upgrade and enhance its production line. Established in 1985, Ravensby Glass is part of Malcolm, Ogilvie and Co, which has manufacturing roots in Dundee dating back over 175 years.
Nicholas Cunningham, chair of Malcolm, Ogilvie and Co, said: “We take great pride in what we do, and it is inevitable that we must continue to evolve, to futureproof our product and our business. Our engineers and factory staff are currently undergoing training for the new machines, geared towards enhanced quality control.”
