Trade and domestic fabricator Bifold Local, based in Bootle, Merseyside, started manufacturing the Stellar aluminium system, from Epwin Window Systems, in February 2021. Already, the business is reporting significant growth, with demand for the Stellar bi-fold door in particular necessitating new investment in automated fabrication machinery.
Liam Duffy, Bifold Local’s director, said: “Stellar has the slim profiles that are so popular with consumers and the bi-fold door has real appeal. It’s allowing us to capitalise on demand for this popular style of door.” The door aesthetics are enhanced by the impressive sash sizes the Stellar bi-fold door can achieve. Sashes can be as large as 1,200mm wide and 2,500mm high, with a maximum height plus width of 3,500mm.
Bifold Local is also benefiting from the ease of installation of the Stellar aluminium bi-fold door. With features such as patented knock-in beads, it is reportedly as easy to fit as PVC-U. Liam added: “Our installers like the rapid installation thanks to the pre-gasketed knock-in glazing beads that save so much time when fitting. The pre-inserted gaskets don’t overstretch either, which adds to the overall door high-end aesthetics but also eliminates call backs to site. For my money, it’s the best aluminium bi-fold door on the market.”
