Carl F Groupco is celebrating the third anniversary of SmartSecure. The hardware specialist says that the launch of the electronic locking and access control brand in 2016 put it at the ‘forefront’ of smart tech for the fenestration industry. As specialists in the supply of locking systems with over 60 years’ experience of window and door hardware distribution, Carl F Groupco adds that it was ‘ideally placed’ to play a pioneering role in the adoption of smart solutions.
The Fuhr 881 electronically operated, multipoint lock – accredited by Secured by Design – is at the heart of the solution. Strengthening the appeal of SmartSecure, a retrofit route is offered using Yale’s Conexis Smart locking handle with a smart phone replacing the traditional key.
Carl F Groupco’s managing director, John Crittenden, said: “We are on the cusp of a major electronic evolution in the fenestration market and we have positioned ourselves ahead of the curve, establishing Carl F Groupco as a leader in the field of smart tech for the sector.
“Demand for keyless smart technology includes design led applications. SmartSecure’s access control and monitoring capabilities are also leading to widespread adoption in the social housing and housing association sectors. The SmartSecure brand is a significant differentiator enabling us to provide high-end technology as part of tailored solutions.”
SmartSecure access control options include SmartConnect, which enables keyless door opening and access monitoring using a smartphone app. SmartTouch operates with a small transponder in the vicinity of the door and a sensor is touched. Radio-based access control systems are also available including radio keypad, transponder and fingerprint scanner for keyless biometric access control.
